I bought it for Mac and iPhone, then stopped using it after a while because-as I came to realize-the GTD system doesn’t work for me for task management. It’s a beautifully designed app and I like the pricing model: a bit expensive, but a one-time payment, NOT a subscription. Things: This one really comes down to personal preference. And afaik there’s no E2E encryption, despite everything being stored in a database that could easily be locked down. The subscription is overpriced for what you’re getting imo, and you’re still expected to pay for iCloud storage separately. I also prefer to keep my files in standard folders rather than a proprietary database. Ulysses: I didn’t like their weird implementation of markdown-either give me standard markdown or rich text.

To any of the devs of the apps I may have listed above, I'm sorry but it's mainly an opinion piece.Īs always some of the apps I think were not for me might be really important to you guys. (FilePane, Invisible, iResizer, Movavi PM). Have a few novelty MenuBar apps and apps that I bought in bundles or impulse bought. I thought I would need Transmit, but I didn't. New versions of Mac don't need any OCR tools since it's now a built in feature. I bought a few others in bundles some time ago and they are sitting unused.

For a paid option Rectangle Pro or Swish is good. They all kind of are getting to a point where they have the same core feature set that's enough for most users. I personally bought a few that were pretty decent back in the day and had some good software like Forklift but too many apps inside are duds. If you need more advanced settings look at TinkerTool or Onyxīe weary of bundles that are sold. I bought a lifetime license a long time ago and I personally think it's worth it since I have a few custom workflows, clipboard history, snippets.Ĭleanup apps are not needed (Sensei, CleanMyMac). If you don't need some of the advanced features, just stick with Alfred without Powerpack. Preferably one that is not a subscription. I still recommend it to those who can afford it and have a need for it but I personally just clean up my folders manually once in a while.Ĭlipboard managers, get one, any one and that's enough.
